Industrial cooperation projects implementation discussed by Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Belarus

The issues of strengthening trade and economic cooperation were discussed by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko. The meeting was held on the eve of the international industrial exhibition "INNOPROM. Kazakhstan".

Alikhan Smailov emphasized that Belarus is an important trade and economic partner for Kazakhstan. Last year, bilateral trade turnover grew by 23% and crossed the threshold of $1 billion. According to the Prime Minister, to maintain high growth dynamics, it is necessary to continue joint work to expand the range of supplied goods and services.

At the same time, one of the drivers of partnership between the countries is industrial cooperation. Thus, 8 projects worth about $180 million have already been implemented, on the basis of which 1400 new jobs have been created. At the stage of realization there are 2 projects for $19 million. At the same time, the departments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus are working on the launch of 4 more projects worth over $100 million with the creation of about 800 jobs.

"Kazakhstan is interested in the development of industrial cooperation, implementation of new joint projects and expansion of capacity of existing production facilities," Alikhan Smailov said.

In turn, Prime Minister of Belarus noted that successful cooperation projects of Kazakhstan and Belarus can serve as a model for further development of this direction.

"The existing joint production capacities already allow to manufacture up to 10 thousand tractors and up to 1 thousand combines per year in Kazakhstan. We count on further support of these projects," Roman Golovchenko said.

Along with this, he outlined the prospects for deepening cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex, production of fire and rescue equipment and construction.
