Infrastructure modernization, new construction and agricultural projects support: Abay region development considered by Government

Measures for the implementation of major projects of socio-economic development of Abay region were considered in the Government. In particular, the implementation of the instructions of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, given by the results of a working visit to the region on April 21, were discussed.

The heads of the central government agencies and the region akim reported on the reconstruction of heat sources, heat and water supply networks in the region, road Taldykorgan - Kalbatau and Charsk reservoir structures, as well as ongoing work on the construction of the Karakol reservoir, the counter-regulator on the Irtysh River, a new solid waste dump and CHP-3 in Semey, etc.

In addition, information was presented on the support of new investment projects in the agro-industrial complex to saturate the region with socially important food, creating a belt of SMEs around large enterprises and subsoil users, providing housing queue holders through Otbasy bank, the expansion of air links with other cities in the country, etc.

Also, plans to attract investment in the modernization of enterprises and geological exploration, construction of a dry port and logistics park in the village of Bakhty, repair of suspension bridge and roads in Semey, construction of new energy infrastructure, education, health, culture and sports facilities were considered.

Prime Minister stressed that the ministries and the akimat need to carefully plan joint steps, gradually focusing on the highest priority projects and initiatives.
