"Egov for innovation projects" to be launched in Kazakhstan

The issues of innovative development of regions and creation of the "Single Window" national innovation system were considered at the meeting of the Council for Technological Policy chaired by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov.

Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Mussin reported that in order to increase technological activity in regions and increase contribution of IT-sector to development of economy it is planned to concentrate efforts on necessary support of regional innovation platforms and business incubators. Typically, this applies to the rental of jobs, training and consulting services.

The Prime Minister said that this direction should be funded, including at the expense of funds allocated by subsoil users for research and development (R&D).

The akimats should also create conditions for development of innovations and their introduction into the regional economy, he said.

The meeting also considered a plan of implementation of the project "Single Window" of the national innovation system, which provides for the launch of a digital platform on the model of Egov, which will collect measures of state support for thematic projects. Besides, the system will allow the participants of the branch to interact with each other: to monitor, to order services, to conclude contracts, etc.

The Prime Minister supported these approaches and instructed to launch the project in a pilot mode in summer 2023.

"The entire private sector should be able to fully see the market, create demand for innovations and make relevant orders on one platform. On the other hand, innovators will have an effective mechanism to implement their ideas," Alikhan Smailov said.
