A meeting was held between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, and the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin. The parties discussed the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level.
During the meeting, both sides noted the high level of trust and constructive dialogue between Kazakhstan and Russia, based on strategic partnership and alliance. According to the results of 2024, the volume of mutual trade reached $27.8 billion, and from January to May 2025 amounted to $9.6 billion.
"On the instructions of the Heads of our states, we are purposefully working to increase the volume of mutual trade to $30 billion. There are significant opportunities for investment cooperation. In general, I would like to note the effective work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation in addressing a wide range of bilateral interaction issues," Olzhas Bektenov stated.
As part of strengthening the partnership between the two countries, special attention was also given to the preparation for the 21st Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, which will be held this autumn in the city of Uralsk.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further deepen mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the two countries in all priority areas.
