Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov within the framework of his working trip to Ulytau region visited the facilities of the communal energy sector of the region, where he got acquainted with the pace of modernisation of infrastructure.

In particular, Head of the Government visited in Satpayev heat stations №1 and №2, which are the source of heat and hot water for almost 70 thousand residents of the city. Prime Minister was informed that at the heat station №1 currently undergoing major and current repair of 4 boilers, as well as gas ducts.

Modernisation of equipment is also being carried out at Zhezkazgan CHPP. 13.5 billion tenge has been allocated for this purpose. At present, overhaul of boiler unit №5 is underway, 60% of it is completed, and it is planned to expand the current repair of boiler №7. Taking into account the repairs performed on boiler units and turbine units, the percentage of wear and tear decreased from 84% to 63%. Modernisation of boiler №8 has been completed by 70%. Olzhas Bektenov instructed the management of the region, as well as Corporation Kazakhmys to increase the pace, promptly and qualitatively complete preparations for the coming winter.

"Providing the population with heat and hot water affects the social well-being of citizens and in general on the situation in the region. Kazakhmys Corporation must fulfil all its obligations on Zhezkazgan CHPP, as well as heating stations No.1 and No.2 of Satpayev. There is a need for coordinated work between the Akimat and the Corporation. Everything must be done in a timely manner," Prime Minister instructed.

For reference: Currently, the depreciation of Zhezkazgan CHPP is about 65%, Satpayev boiler house - 85%. 30.2 billion tenge has been allocated for preparation for the heating season in the Ulytau region. 10 boilers were prepared, 478 km of power lines were repaired, 22.6 km of water pipelines out of 29.8 km were repaired, and 46.4 km of gas pipelines were built.
