During his working trip to Akmola region, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov visited a number of social infrastructure facilities. On the example of polyclinic Viamedis in Stepnogorsk, the effectiveness of the mechanism of public-private partnership in domestic health care was assessed. Also visited the state nursery-kindergarten "Ademau" in the village of Manshuk Mametova.
Head of the Government was informed that Viamedis polyclinic was built within the framework of public-private partnership. Today the medical centre with a design capacity of 1020 visits per shift serves about 64 thousand residents of Stepnogorsk and neighbouring settlements.
The facility includes a day hospital, departments of specialised surgical and therapeutic care, a Phthisiatry Centre and a clinical and diagnostic laboratory. In addition, the Company started construction of a multi-disciplinary regional hospital in the town of Kosshy.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of further improving the quality of medical services and modernising the infrastructure.
"As the Head of State noted in his Address, for the development of domestic healthcare it is necessary to attract resources more actively through the mechanism of public-private partnership. In general, the implementation of PPP projects demonstrates how important for us is the participation of business in the development and support of the healthcare sector. Therefore, it is necessary to promptly analyse and solve problematic issues for the active application of PPP model," Olzhas Bektenov said.
In addition, Prime Minister visited the nursery-kindergarten "Ademau", the opening of which allowed to solve the problem of preschool education in the village of Manshuk Mametova. In the two-storey building with the area of 600 square metres conditions for comfortable stay of children have been created, the nursery-kindergarten is currently attended by 40 pupils. The designed capacity of the pre-school institution is 2 times more up to 80 children.
In accordance with the goals announced by the President in his Address, the Government is working on changes in the system of per capita financing of preschool education. It is necessary to ensure the qualitative implementation of the new approach, taking into account the linkage to the real income of each family.
