Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov discussed the implementation of joint projects with the leaders of the Qatari holding Power International Holding (PIH), Moutaz Al-Khayyat and Ramez Al-Khayyat.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the gas processing and telecommunications sectors were reviewed.

According to the Ministry of Energy, Power International Holding is participating in the implementation of several joint projects in the energy sector.

In the gas processing industry, the construction of two gas processing plants at the Kashagan field with a capacity of 1 billion and 2.5 billion m³ of gas per year, respectively, is provided for. Construction and installation work is underway at the 1 billion m³ capacity GPP, with the delivery of basic equipment virtually completed. The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for 2027. Under the project for the construction of the second GPP with a capacity of 2.5 billion m³, preparations for the main implementation phase are underway, and the EPC contractor has been selected. Project completion is scheduled for 2030.

As part of the development of gas transportation infrastructure, a project for the construction of the second line of the "Beineu – Bozoy – Shymkent" trunk gas pipeline is being implemented. Design, delivery of equipment, and materials are ongoing. The completion of the first stage is scheduled for 2027, and the second stage for 2029.

Issues of cooperation in the field of telecommunications and further collaboration in this direction were also discussed.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to intensify joint efforts across all the above-mentioned projects to ensure the timely commissioning of facilities. The Government of Kazakhstan is providing necessary assistance to promptly resolve emerging issues.

In turn, the heads of the holding confirmed their interest in mutually beneficial cooperation and expressed their intention to make all necessary efforts to fulfill all agreements.
