Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with Nikolay Gorban, General Director of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), to discuss cooperation in the oil transportation sector.

The parties reviewed the progress of current and upcoming investment programs, as well as the pace of modernization of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk oil pipeline.

The head of the international consortium provided an update on the results of 2024.

Nikolay Gorban reported the completion of restoration work and the commissioning of the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station. As part of cooperation between KazTransOil JSC and CPC, a project was completed in 2024 to build and connect a new interlink between the CPC pipeline and the Kassymov oil pumping station of KazTransOil JSC.

As of today, the technical capability has been ensured to increase transportation volumes from 67 to 81.5 million tonnes per year, including through the Kazakh section from 53.7 to 72.5 million tonnes per year. As a result of the CPC Debottlenecking Program (CPC DNP), it is planned to reach 1 billion tonnes of crude oil shipped by October this year.

Olzhas Bektenov emphasized that the Government pays special attention to the uninterrupted operation of the CPC pipeline, which serves as a vital artery for the export of Kazakh oil. In this regard, the Kazakh side will provide the necessary support.

During the meeting, the importance of the consortium's social responsibility was also noted. CPC is implementing a number of social projects in Kazakhstan, including the construction of a 900-seat school in Atyrau. In total, 4.4 billion tenge was allocated for social projects over the past year. In 2025, further measures are planned to support the development of educational and healthcare infrastructure.

Following the negotiations, both sides confirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation across all areas of engagement.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest energy projects in the CIS. The Tengiz–Novorossiysk pipeline spans 1,511 km. Between January and April of this year, 23.9 million tonnes of oil were transported through the CPC pipeline, including 21.5 million tonnes of Kazakh oil.
