Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov Holds Meeting on Implementation of Major Metallurgical and Petrochemical Projects
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with Peter Costello, President of Shell's Exploration and Production Division. The discussions focused on the implementation of joint oil and gas projects and prospects for further cooperation. The meeting was also attended by Ali Al-Janabi, Senior Vice President and Chairman of Shell in Kazakhstan, and Suzanne Kugean, Vice President for Exploration in Key Countries and Namibia.
The Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov reported on the current situation and prospects for the development of the oil and gas chemical industry at the meeting of the Government. He emphasised that this area is one of the priorities in reorienting the oil and gas sector from the raw materials model to the production of high value-added products.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov considered the issue of development of chemical and petrochemical industries.
As part of the digital transformation of the gas industry, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Kanysh Tuleushin noted that the main work is to improve the efficiency and safety of gas production and supply processes, as well as to optimise data-driven management and decision-making.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the issue of gas industry development, including in the perimeter of NC QazaqGaz JSC activity was considered. On the main results, including the solution of gas deficit, growth of gasification and introduction of digital tools, reported the Chairman of the Board of the company Sanzhar Zharkeshov.
