In the city of Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan), under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in a narrow composition was held.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Ministers of Armenia and Belarus, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, the Chairman of the Government of Russia, and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The heads of the EAEU member states have set tasks to maintain macroeconomic stability and increase the economic potential of the region, improve the quality of life of the population, develop mutual trade, and eliminate barriers in the Union market.

“Within the framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union, we consistently advocate for the development of artificial intelligence, the creation of logistics hubs, the digitalization of industry and the agro-industrial complex, the provision of barrier-free trade, and the building of a global dialogue with external partners. These are precisely the tasks that were outlined by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev in his address to the heads of the member states. I am confident that the agreements reached following our meeting will make a significant contribution to the implementation of the set goals and the further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation within the EAEU,” Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.
At the meeting in a narrow format, issues of food security of the member states and the further development of trade and economic cooperation with the main trading partners of the EAEU were considered. The participants also exchanged views on creating favorable conditions for the entry of goods of the EAEU states into new markets.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan noted that the new mechanism of financial assistance in the field of the agro-industrial complex, signed by the heads of state at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana in May of this year, will make it possible not only to support the positive dynamics of agricultural production, but also to develop mutual trade and stimulate joint cooperation projects.
The work of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting will continue in an expanded composition.
