Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov took part in a collective meeting in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and the heads of delegations of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as in the meeting of the heads of government/vice president of the OTS member states.
During the collective meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, attention was given to issues of regional integration, trade and economic relations, efficient use of transit potential, and other topics.
The meeting of heads of government and the vice president of OTS countries was attended by Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Hidayat oglu Asadov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, and Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliev.
The participants exchanged views on cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, transport, digitalization, energy, and agriculture. Issues of improving mechanisms aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation within the Organization were also discussed.
In his speech, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan noted that the constructive policy of the heads of state makes it possible to consistently implement important initiatives aimed at creating the strategic foundation of the OTS.
“As President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, the Organization of Turkic States has in a short time become an authoritative structure and raised its global status. I am confident that the results of today’s meeting will give new impetus to the further development of fraternal and partnership relations between the Turkic states and will serve the interests of our peoples,” Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.
The importance of the effective use of institutions such as the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic States, the Turkic Investment Fund, the Coordination Committee, the Council on Green Finance, and others was noted.
Emphasis was placed on strengthening transport and logistics ties, accelerating the digitalization of customs procedures, and modernizing the infrastructure of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, including ports and railways.
In addition, the relevance of cooperation in scientific research and design and engineering was highlighted, including the creation of joint research centers in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other fields.
