Prime Minister Askar Mamin visits Akmola region

Prime Minister Askar Mamin arrived in Akmola region for a working trip, where he got acquainted with the measures taken to achieve the strategic goals set by the First President – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, and fulfilling the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the socio-economic development of the region.

Mamin visited the agricultural machinery construction enterprise — Kazakhstan Agro Innovation Corporation LLP. Today, the plant produces 1,500 units of equipment per year. In the future, the company expects an increase in capacity to 5,000 units of agricultural machinery per year and the creation of more than 400 jobs.

Acquaintance with industrial development continued during the inspection of the work of the joint Kazakh-Russian machine-building enterprise KAMAZ-Engineering. Mamin was told about the plans to launch the output of 2,500 vehicles per year in the near future.

In the region, the prime minister also examined the project of “the economy of simple things.” Since the beginning of the current year, Dva Kita LLP has produced 12.7 thousand parts of furniture. The further plans include expansion of the line and an increase in production. For these purposes, 1 billion tenge of private investment will be attracted. In total, in the region for the development of consumer goods, work is underway on 71 projects for 87.6 billion tenge.

Akmola region has great prospects for increasing the share of tourism in the economy. The regional tourist cluster includes over 700 objects. The prime minister was informed about the work being done to develop the transport and energy infrastructure of the city. Along with this, the project of the embankment improvement on Lake Kopa located in Kokshetau.

The prime minister held a working meeting on the issues of socio-economic development, as well as preparations for the upcoming XVII Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia in 2020, implementation of the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort development plan, the special project “Aul – El Besіgі” and development of the outskirts of the capital.

Akim of Akmola region Yermek Marzhikpayev reported on the socio-economic development. According to the results of 5 months in 2019, a positive trend was noted for all macroeconomic indicators. The volume of industrial production for January-May 2019 amounted to 284.1 billion tenge. In 2019, within the framework of the State Program of Industrial and Innovative Development, it is planned to implement 5 projects for 9.3 billion tenge with the creation of 434 new permanent jobs. As of June 1, 2019, 83.2 billion tenge was attracted to the fixed assets of the economy, an increase by 4.4%. In agriculture, production increased by 13% and amounted to 63.6 billion tenge.

Near 129 billion tenge is provided for the social sphere in 2019. The construction of three kindergartens, six schools, five health facilities. In five months in 2019, the housing was given to 116 large and low-income families, 610 million tenge was paid within the framework of targeted social assistance.

During the meeting, a draft Action Plan for the Preparation and Holding of the Interregional Forum was reviewed. Kokshetau has a developed infrastructure and convenient transport logistics. In general, the forum will give an additional impetus to the development of qualitatively new relationships in the tourism sector, as well as serve to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation across a wide range of trade and economic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.

The meeting also heard the heads of a number of ministries on tourism development, providing the resort area with engineering, transport and information and communication infrastructure, development of promising villages and suburbs of the capital.

“The basis of the state program for the development of the tourism are the top 10 sites in Kazakhstan, one of which is the Shchuchins-Borovoe resort zone,” said Askar Mamin, noting that there are high hopes for the tourism industry. “By providing a multiplicative effect on the development of transport and telecommunications, construction, trade, agriculture, and tourism, it contributes to the socio-economic development of the country: the flow of investment and the creation of jobs.”

The head of the Government instructed to strengthen work to improve the ecological situation and modernize the infrastructure of the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort area, develop high-quality and affordable services. In the field of tourism, about 7 thousand new jobs will be created here. In general, by 2025, the share of tourism in the country's GDP is planned to increase to 8%.

As part of the special project “Aul – El Besigi” in the Akmola region, 19 projects are envisaged for 2019, of which 8 are contracts. In addition, 10 projects will be implemented for the development of the outskirts of the capital, including 3 projects for the construction of water supply and wastewater networks, 2 road projects, and others.

Mamin ordered to take on special control the implementation of the project “Aul – El Besigi” and focus on the improvement and solution of problems of the outskirts of cities of republican significance.
