President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will participate in the VI Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia. The Head of Turkmenistan was met by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.

Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are steadily expanding trade and economic cooperation across the entire spectrum of interaction. Thus, for 5 years the volume of mutual trade between the countries has increased 4 times and only last year increased by 28%. Trade turnover for 6 months of this year totalled $237.2 million.

The gas industry and transit-transport sphere, where a number of large projects on reconstruction and construction of motorways are being implemented, are promising areas for increasing cooperation. Among them is the construction of a new motorway "Kazakhstan border - Garabogaz - Turkmenbashi", 225 kilometres long, and a new bridge across Garabogazgol Bay. A 165 km section of the road "Zhanaozen - Turkmenistan" is being reconstructed.
