Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC Samruk-Kazyna. The report of the Chairman of the Management Board of the Fund, Nurlan Zhakupov, on the implementation of the Head of State’s instructions regarding the commissioning of major investment projects in priority sectors of the economy was heard. Attention was given to the Fund’s key financial and production indicators and the ongoing work to improve the procurement process.
The leadership of Samruk-Kazyna reported to the Board of Directors on the implementation of 46 investment projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, transport and logistics, mining, and other sectors. The disbursement rate for these projects for the first four months of the current year was 98%.
This year, five projects totaling about 355 billion tenge have been commissioned.
A container hub has been launched at the port of Aktau. The facility is equipped to receive railway trains, handle cargo, and forward it via maritime transport. The largest container hub in the Caspian Sea will increase freight volumes and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position on international routes.
The Zhetysu international logistics terminal with a design capacity of 115 thousand TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) has been commissioned in Almaty. The project, implemented in cooperation with the port of Xi'an (PRC), will enhance Kazakhstan’s transport connectivity with China and European countries.
Modernization of the CASPI BITUM plant in Aktau has been completed, increasing capacity by 50% to 750 thousand tons of bitumen per year.
A high-tech infectious disease research center with 350 beds has been built in Almaty.
The construction of a desalination plant in Kenderli is nearing completion; commissioning and equipment calibration works are currently underway.
Additionally, the linear section of the Taldykorgan – Usharal main gas pipeline, 302.4 km long in the Zhetysu region, has been completed ahead of schedule. Early construction work has begun on the gas separation complex for polyethylene production and the second line of the Beineu – Bozoy – Shymkent main gas pipeline.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed the leadership of Samruk-Kazyna and relevant ministries to ensure the timely implementation of investment projects and further improve mechanisms for supporting domestic manufacturers.
