Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Upon arrival, he held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin.
The two sides discussed the development of Kazakh-Belarusian cooperation and emphasized the need to enhance intergovernmental coordination and practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
In 2024, trade between Kazakhstan and Belarus reached $900 million. In the first quarter of this year, the volume increased by 3.6% compared to the same period last year, approaching $200 million.
The parties agreed to intensify cooperation and support stronger ties between the business communities of both countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the prospects for collaboration within the CIS were also discussed, including joint initiatives aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth and improving the well-being of both nations.
