Roman Sklyar discusses localization possibility of agricultural machinery production plant in Kazakhstan with German delegation

First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar met with Wolfgang Tiefensee, Minister of Economy, Science and Digitalization of Thuringia (Germany), as well as representatives of German business on Monday, April 24.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of topical issues of cooperation, including the possibility of localization of the plant of the leading German manufacturer of the agricultural equipment Petkus company, creation of the Kazakhstan-German center for vocational training (together with the Erfurt educational center), as well as the transfer of innovative technologies in the textile industry.

Having welcomed the close political dialogue between Kazakhstan and Germany, Sklar drew attention to the growing dynamics of bilateral trade and increase in German direct investment in our country.

In turn, the Minister of  Economy, Science and Digital Society of Thuringia Wolfgang Tiefensee praised the activities of a special working group under the Government of Kazakhstan for the development of investment cooperation with the German business and expressed his willingness to contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.

For reference: Thuringia is one of the most economically developed federal states in eastern Germany, it is known for its machinery industry.
