Roman Sklyar holds meeting with CEO of Yutong International Co., Ltd.

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar met with the Chairman of the Board of the transnational company Yutong Mr Wang Wentao.

During the talks they discussed the current results of the implementation of the joint project to produce bus equipment on the basis of the plant QazTehna, located in the industrial zone of Saran city, Karaganda region.

Mr Wang Wentao expressed his gratitude to the Government of Kazakhstan for all-round support of the project implemented in partnership with Yutong - the world's largest bus equipment manufacturer.

"We highly appreciate the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the development of mechanical engineering and economic diversification and are ready to actively participate in these processes," he emphasised.

The Chairman of the Board also noted that Kazakhstan is considered by the company as a key strategic market in Central Asia. In this regard, Yutong intends to further increase cooperation with the Kazakh side by increasing investment, expanding technology transfer and deepening the localisation of production.

To date, the production portfolio of QazTehna plant includes a wide range of products, including urban, intercity, tourist and specialised buses of Yutong brand. More than 1,000 jobs for highly qualified specialists have been created at the plant. Since the launch of the plant in 2021, over 4,000 units of bus equipment have been produced.

In 2025, it is planned to produce more than 1.5 thousand buses, which reflects the stable growth and sustainability of the project being implemented.

New production facilities are currently under construction to expand the company's technological base and increase the share of local content. The territory of over 10 thousand m2 will accommodate modern buildings for welding, assembly, fabrication and stamping of cladding elements, which will significantly increase the level of localisation and strengthen the position of ‘QazTehna’ as the leading manufacturer of bus equipment in Kazakhstan.

The parties confirmed their aspiration to further expand mutually beneficial partnership and strengthen the industrial potential of the country.
