Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, head of the Republican headquarters for coordination of flood control measures and floods Olzhas Bektenov checked the flood situation in Aktobe region and familiarised himself with the progress of execution of the instructions of the Head of State on the ground.

The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation during floods provides safe operation of hydraulic structures to regulate river flow and passage of flood and melt water to downstream, as well as accumulation of the design volume of water in reservoirs. This was announced by the head of the department Nurzhan Nurzhigitov at the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
Since the beginning of the flood period, 66 cases of overflow have been registered on the republican motorways. Now in 5 regions there are overflows on 5 roads with a length of 980 metres, in connection with which the restriction of traffic on 6 roads with a length of 410 km has been introduced. As the Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev noted, round-the-clock monitoring of flood-prone areas and road structures is carried out.

Issues of updating the Comprehensive Development Plan of Mangystau region for 2021-2025 were discussed in the Government under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin.
