The first meeting of the Project Office for the development of Alatau City, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev, was held in the Government. 

"The Head of State has set the task to accelerate the pace of creation of Alatau city. By the order of the Prime Minister, the Project Office was established this week. It will become a platform for making key decisions on the basis of the project approach with the definition of personal responsibility for the supervised sectors. The first results on the creation of the city should be presented exactly in 6 months. The starting point is today," Kanat Bozumbayev noted. 

At the meeting of the Project Office participants identified the main directions of work: making the necessary changes to the legislation and simplification of procedures to attract investors.

"One of the key wishes of foreign investors is to provide services on the principle of “single window”, support and service support throughout the investment cycle. Akimat of Almaty region and the Committee on Investments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should create an appropriate ecosystem in Alatau," Deputy Prime Minister instructed.

Akimat of the region has identified anchor projects, including on the reserve (industrial) territory "Arna". 10 investment projects are already being implemented in Alatau, negotiations with Dolce-Group, Hyundai Green Food and TBEA companies are underway. Registration of the first participants of FEZ "Alatau" is expected in the near future. A delegation from Almaty region is scheduled to visit China, including Shenzhen to meet with potential investors.
