At the invitation of the Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlybek Nalibayev arrived in Beijing on a working visit, where he took part in the "Global Sustainable Transport Forum."

Prior to the start of the forum, a solemn award ceremony took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People's Republic of China, where Xi Guohua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CITIC Group, was presented with the Order of "Dostyk" (Friendship) Grade II.

Nurlybek Nalibayev presented the high state award on behalf of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noting Xi Guohua's significant personal contribution to strengthening Kazakh-Chinese friendship and developing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation. Confidence was also expressed that the awarding of the Order of "Dostyk" would serve as another symbol highlighting the strength of Kazakh-Chinese relations and provide additional momentum for the further expansion of cooperation with CITIC Group.

Xi Guohua expressed his gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the high state honor. The award was viewed as recognition of joint efforts implemented under the strategic leadership of the heads of the two states and the contribution of the business communities of Kazakhstan and China to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The head of CITIC Group noted the special nature of Kazakh-Chinese relations, as well as the responsibility of the business circles of both countries in implementing the agreements reached at the highest level and advancing inter-state trade, economic, and investment interaction.

Nurlybek Nalibayev spoke at a session dedicated to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The session featured speeches and presentations by Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Shohrat Zakir, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlist Akunbekov. Participants noted that the role of TITR in the international cargo transportation system is growing every year, and that it has transformed into a vital transport corridor connecting China and Europe.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, the First Deputy Prime Minister presented the priority directions for the development of Kazakhstan's transport sector, as well as infrastructure projects of international importance. Special attention was paid to the growth in cargo volumes between Kazakhstan and China, along with opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the transport and logistics field.

The "Global Sustainable Transport Forum" was attended by nearly one thousand representatives of government and ministerial delegations from foreign states, international organizations, the diplomatic corps, the expert community, and business circles.

An important part of the visit's program was the first bilateral meeting between Nurlybek Nalibayev and Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC and Co-Chairman of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee Ding Xuexiang.

During the meeting, the parties focused on expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, developing links in agriculture, high technology, and interregional interaction, stepping up investment cooperation, addressing issues concerning transboundary rivers, discussing the activities of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee, as well as other relevant areas of bilateral cooperation.

As part of the visit, bilateral meetings were held with Zhang Bingnan, President of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), and Xi Guohua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CITIC Group. The parties discussed attracting investment to Kazakhstan, implementing joint investment and infrastructure projects, and exploring opportunities for cooperation in new areas.
