Kazakhstan, USA discussed nuclear security issues

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Idrisov held a meeting with Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs of the USA Wendy  Sherman in Astana today.


The interlocutors discussed the current state and promising directions for strategic partnership between the countries including joint work in the sphere of nuclear security, issues of trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the energy and human right spheres, the press service of the Ministry reported.

The sides also exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and global security in particular, on stabilization of the situation n Afghanistan.

As the Ministry informs, the visit of the U.S. Under Secretary in Kazakhstan will give a new impetus to further development of the Kazakh-American relations.

As earlier reported, the U.S. Under Secretary has already visited Afghanistan, India and Kyrgyzstan within her regional tour.
