From this summer, a special procedure for state control over the safety of budget-funded children’s facilities is being introduced in Kazakhstan. Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Alnazarova reported on legislative changes and the strengthening of sanitary and epidemiological supervision at the Government session.
According to her, the new approaches are aimed at preventing group infectious diseases, the growth of which has been recorded in the last three years. Under the new mechanism, monitoring of schools and health centers will begin on June 1, and large-scale scheduled inspections of all specified facilities will start on July 1. The special procedure will allow for a prompt response to systemic violations, among which the most common are unsatisfactory sanitary and technical conditions of premises, problems in food units, and the absence of permits. Since the beginning of the year, sanitary doctors have already inspected 347 schools, including 49 food units.
“Since the beginning of the year, 347 school inspections have been carried out, including 49 food units. The main violations are of a systemic nature: emergency condition of certain schools; unsatisfactory sanitary and technical condition of premises; lack of sanitary and epidemiological conclusions. These factors have a negative impact on the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of children. In this regard, this year the Head of State signed a Law providing for the introduction of a special procedure for state control of facilities with children’s stay financed from the state budget,” the Minister emphasized.
In addition, the opening of 187 summer health organizations is planned for the current season, but to date only 53% of them have submitted applications.

All identified cases have been sent to the prosecution authorities, police, and local executive bodies, and appropriate measures have been taken,” the Minister stressed.
