The Government is systematically implementing the instructions of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev aimed at large-scale modernization of key sectors of the economy and the social sphere.
In line with the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Government, together with the General Prosecutor’s Office, is returning illegally withdrawn assets to the country and directing the recovered funds toward the most pressing social and infrastructure needs. These resources are used to build and modernize water supply systems, schools, kindergartens, medical facilities, sports facilities, and transport infrastructure.
Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Saiasat Nurbek reported at the Government session on the work being carried out to prepare for the new academic year and to establish interaction between universities and enterprises on personnel training issues.
In Kazakhstan, comprehensive preparation of educational organizations for the upcoming academic season is being completed. A special place in the ongoing work is occupied by updating the content of curricula in line with the norms of the New Constitution, digital transformation of enrolment processes, expansion of the inclusive environment, and the phased integration of artificial intelligence tools.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, readiness for the start of the new academic year was reviewed.
First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlybek Nalibayev arrived on a working visit to Kyzylorda Region, where he familiarized himself with the progress of construction of social and infrastructure facilities being built on the instruction of the President.
The development of science and higher education is among the strategic priorities defined by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In the President’s instructions, special attention is paid to improving the quality of education, strengthening scientific potential, developing applied research and its connection with the real sector of the economy. Key tasks remain the training of in-demand specialists, the introduction of innovations and the formation of a knowledge-based economy.

New engineering networks are being put into operation in the regions, social facilities are being opened, and modern tourism infrastructure is being created.

Under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balaeva, the second meeting of the Republican Headquarters for Organizing Children’s Summer Holidays was held in the Government.
In the Address to the People of Kazakhstan “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Tasks and Their Solutions through Digital Transformation,” the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev identified the well-being of citizens, access to quality education and healthcare, as well as comprehensive support for rural areas as the main guidelines of state policy.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov discussed cooperation in the field of education with President of the University of Arizona Dr. Suresh Garimella. In particular, prospects for expanding joint academic programs, scientific research and technology transfer in priority sectors for Kazakhstan were considered.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov familiarized himself with the technological equipment and created educational conditions in the new building of the Kazakh National University of Sports (KNUS), opened in Astana on the instruction of the President.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a series of bilateral meetings with participants of the 38th plenary session of the Foreign Investors’ Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia; Clay Neff, President of Chevron Upstream; and Peter Costello, President of Shell plc’s Exploration and Production division.
