Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the international company Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited Lawrence Ho.
The development of a modern tourism industry is one of the priority areas of state policy for economic diversification, investment attraction, and the creation of new points of economic growth.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the development of Kazakhstan’s tourism infrastructure were discussed, as well as opportunities for investors to participate in projects on the territory of Alatau City.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the President pays increased attention to the implementation of the Alatau City project and the construction of necessary infrastructure. From July 1, 2026, the new Constitution will come into force, as well as the Constitutional Law “On the Special Legal Regime of Alatau City,” which provides transparent mechanisms for interaction with investors, long-term stability of conditions for the implementation of investment projects, and modern mechanisms for investment protection.
Chairman of the Board of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited Lawrence Ho expressed the company’s interest in implementing joint projects, noting Kazakhstan’s high potential for the development of tourism and the hospitality industry.
Following the meeting, the sides expressed interest in further cooperation on the development of modern tourism infrastructure.
For reference: Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited is one of the largest international operators of integrated resort complexes. The company implements projects in Macau, the Philippines, and Cyprus, developing tourism, hotel, and MICE infrastructure.
