Olzhas Bektenov holds meeting with Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Chairman of Government – Head of Government Apparatus of Russian Federation

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov met with Deputy Prime Minister - Head of the Government Apparatus of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Grigorenko. Discussed a number of issues in the field of digitalisation and artificial intelligence, investment, innovation development.

Attention was paid to the implementation of agreements reached at the level of Heads of State. Thanks to the constant contacts between the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the level of bilateral interaction remains high. By the end of 2024, the volume of mutual trade turnover increased by almost 3% to $27.8 billion. At the same time, there is a significant potential for further trade, economic and investment cooperation.

The participants of the meeting noted the growing importance of artificial intelligence and stressed that partnership in the field of digitalisation is an integral part of bilateral relations. Joining efforts in the processes of introducing new technologies will stimulate the development of innovations, formation of measures to support IT entrepreneurs and startup projects, training of qualified specialists, improvement of information security measures. New opportunities for IT specialists will also appear with the opening of the Alem. ai International Centre of Artificial Intelligence in Astana this year.

As part of his working visit, Dmitry Grigorenko will familiarise himself with the activities of Kazakhstan's leading IT platforms, including the Astana Hub Technopark, where more than 1,600 IT companies, 425 of which are foreign-owned, and the NU Technopark.
