Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with Wang Wentao, President of Hong Kong Sino-Science Oil and Gas Co., Ltd. (Geo-Jade Petroleum).

The discussion focused on cooperation in the oil and gas sector and the implementation of a project to extract hard-to-recover gas. This project is being carried out at the Sozak field in the Kyzylorda region.

Kazakhstan expressed interest in continuing mutually beneficial cooperation and in unlocking the potential of unconventional resources to strengthen energy security and support the country's economic growth.

Following the meeting, both parties agreed that the work will continue at the level of working groups.

For reference: Geo-Jade Petroleum is a major Chinese oil and gas exploration and production company that has been operating in Kazakhstan for over 10 years. The company has previously implemented a number of major projects in Kazakhstan totaling more than $3 billion and has created around 1,000 permanent jobs for the local population.
