Olzhas Bektenov discusses issues of cross-border and interregional cooperation with Russian Tyumen region governor

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with the Governor of the Tyumen region of the Russian Federation Alexander Moor.

They discussed issues of interregional and cross-border cooperation in the development of Kazakh-Russian trade relations. The trade turnover between the regions of Kazakhstan and the Tyumen region in January-May this year amounted to $113.3 million.

During the meeting the issues of cooperation in transportation and logistics sphere were discussed. In particular, the project of reconstruction of the automobile cargo-passenger multilateral checkpoint across the state border.

Within the framework of the complex overhaul it is planned to expand the entrance groups within the existing borders of the checkpoint and to build 2 lanes on the cargo direction and 4 lanes on the passenger direction. The realization of the project will increase the throughput capacity of the ABP and increase trade and economic ties.

In addition, attention is paid to cultural and humanitarian cooperation, interaction in the spheres of higher education, tourism and sports.
