The Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze jointly visited the office of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, where the Georgian delegation was presented digital solutions implemented in Kazakhstan in the railway industry.
During the visit to the office of KTZ, the Prime Minister of Georgia was familiarised with the work of the application "Single Digital Window" and smart system on the railway transport. These innovative solutions are aimed at simplifying procedures, reducing the time of freight transport and ensuring transparency in the sphere of railway logistics.
Today, a partnership has been established between NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC and Georgian Railway JSC, which contributes to the activation of transit flows and the economies of the two countries. In addition, cooperation was established within the framework of the joint venture Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd. established for the development of multimodal service of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.
The parties confirmed their intention to intensify work on increasing freight traffic using available transport and logistics opportunities, while unlocking the potential of ports and terminals.
For reference: In 2024, exports from Kazakhstan to Georgia increased by 34%, transit through Kazakhstan - by 40% compared to 2023. The volume of traffic between the countries in 2024 was 4.7 million tonnes. In general, over the last 4 years, transportations in the direction of Kazakhstan to Georgia have grown 9 times, in the direction of TMTM 6 times.
