Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with President of Finland Alexander Stubb, who arrived on an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Attention was paid to trade, economic and investment cooperation, interaction in industry, energy, digital, transport and logistics, and water sectors, as well as in the financial sphere and agriculture.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan emphasized that the Government would take under control the implementation of all agreements reached at the highest level. Finland is one of Kazakhstan’s important partners in the European Union.

During the negotiations, significant potential for further trade expansion, diversification of its structure, as well as the transfer of new technologies into key sectors of the economy was noted.

Plans were discussed for the implementation of joint investment projects in Kazakhstan, including in the transport sector – for the construction of logistics centers, production facilities with export orientation, and others.

Common points between the two countries in the field of digital transformation – defined by the President as a strategic priority of Kazakhstan – were noted. Considering the launch of a supercomputer in Kazakhstan, the Kazakh side expressed its readiness to exchange experience with Finland, where one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, LUMI, operates.

“As our Head of State noted, Kazakhstan is ready to develop new areas of cooperation with Finland. We are interested in implementing joint projects in priority sectors of the economy. The Government will provide comprehensive support to investors in our country,” Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.

President of Finland Alexander Stubb positively assessed the work carried out by Kazakhstan to create favorable conditions for investors and confirmed his interest in deepening cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
