As part of his working trip to Abay region, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov visited the enterprise for production and processing of rubber products “Eikos”, on the example of which he familiarized himself with the development of waste recycling system.
The company holds leading positions in the country in terms of the volume of products sold. In addition, the company is among the TOP-50 largest private taxpayers in Kazakhstan. In 2023, about 1.5 million tires were sold, more than 9.5 billion tenge was paid to the budget.
Head of the Government was reported on plans to build on the basis of the existing enterprise complex processing of waste generated during the operation of cars with the production of finished products. As a result of processing it is possible to get trauma-safe coatings, thermoplastic, wire and others. The design capacity will reach 50 tons per day: 10 tons/day of which are thermal processing of tires and 40 tons/day - mechanical. As a result of thermal processing, the finished products will be furnace fuel, carbon black and high-alloyed steel, which can later serve as raw materials for other production processes. Mechanical processing produces crumbs of 4 fractions suitable for the production of car tires, running track and playground coatings. The total cost of the project is 2.5 billion tenge. As a result of realization 150 new permanent jobs will be opened.
Olzhas Bektenov noted that today in Kazakhstan 10 companies apply their own system of waste collection and recycling. Most of them are companies importing and processing tires. Head of the Government expressed support for the initiative and instructed the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources together with interested organizations to consider this issue comprehensively.
#Olzhas Bektenov #The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan #Manufacturing industry #Regions #Working trip"Within the framework of the action "Taza Kazakstan" the desire of the enterprise to enter the full cycle of recycling and disposal of tires can positively affect the formation of eco-culture among the population. The Head of State pointed out the need to solve the problem of waste. It is important to support such initiatives. The culture should grow, and the volume of recycling should be commensurate with the rate of consumption. We are striving for sustainable development goals, and ecology is one of the main components ,” Olzhas Bektenov said.
