The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation during floods provides safe operation of hydraulic structures to regulate river flow and passage of flood and melt water to downstream, as well as accumulation of the design volume of water in reservoirs. Since the beginning of the flood period, 66 cases of overflow have been registered on the republican motorways. Now in 5 regions there are overflows on 5 roads with a length of 980 metres, in connection with which the restriction of traffic on 6 roads with a length of 410 km has been introduced. As the Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev noted, round-the-clock monitoring of flood-prone areas and road structures is carried out.
