Tamara Duisenova visits education facilities in Akmola region

As part of a working trip to Akmola region, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tamara Duisenova visited a number of educational facilities in the region.

Creation of favourable conditions for students of universities and colleges is a priority task of the Government. In this regard, Kazakhstan is actively building dormitories. One of such facilities was built for students of the Higher Technical College of Kokshetau. The 5-storey building with 300 beds has a medical room, a centre for student initiatives, and an inclusion room. The educational institution is considered to be an advanced one in the region. It trains not only residents of Akmola region, but also young people from other regions of Kazakhstan. For example, 29 students came from Mangystau region. Deputy Prime Minister spoke with the students and wished them success in their studies.

During her working trip Deputy Prime Minister also visited the Multidisciplinary Innovation College in Krasny Yar village. Here co-operation with major companies of the region is established. The method of dual training is actively used.

Having familiarised herself with the work of the educational institution, Tamara Duisenova took part in a meeting on the development of the TVET system. In his Address to the Nation, the Head of State declared 2025 the year of working professions and ordered to reform the system of technical and vocational education. To fulfil this instruction, the Ministry of Education is developing a comprehensive plan for the transformation of TVET. Work is actively under way to profile colleges. Taking into account the needs of the regional labour market, personnel training is carried out by 29 colleges of Akmola region, 8 of which are identified as reference colleges.

"There will be an assessment of the quality of work of TVET organisations with their distribution into leagues. Also, the per capita funding norm will be changed. For colleges that have implemented international industry standards, most of the graduates are certified and have a high level of average salary, incentive payments will be provided," Tamara Duisenova noted.

Deputy Prime Minister also visited the first kindergarten for children with inclusion in the region. It is attended by 77 children with special needs. It is equipped with offices of a doctor, defectologist, psychologist, speech therapist, as well as an educational and physical training ground.

A meeting on the development of preschool education and training was held at the kindergarten. In particular, the system of voucher financing of kindergartens was presented. That is, the funds are distributed not in pre-school institutions, but are transferred to the accounts of parents, who will choose kindergartens. Thus the principle ‘money follows the child’ is realised.

"The Head of State in his Address to the Nation drew attention to the issue of preparing children for school. In this regard, it is necessary to continue the process of synchronising the educational programmes of kindergartens with the primary grades of schools," Tamara Duisenova said.

Within the framework of her working trip Deputy Prime Minister visited IT school-lyceum named after Al-Farabi. Al-Farabi. Here Tamara Duisenova was presented digital solutions used in the work of educational facilities. They are aimed at ensuring the safety of children, organisation of catering in school canteens.

The Government pays special attention to improving the quality of education. This issue was discussed at a meeting with the participation of heads of educational organisations of the region. In the region 127 target schools that need methodological support have been identified. Most of them are small schools. Work with them will be carried out step by step.

"Kindergartens, schools, colleges and universities should become a single, continuous, multi-level system of personal development. In this regard, the regions have been given specific instructions on financing, synchronisation and improvement of curricula, and professional development of teachers. Active work in this direction is being carried out in all areas," Tamara Duisenova noted.
