Meetings with mothers of many children and low-income families: Working group arrives in Turkestan region

Working group for explaining the main directions of the New Social Measures of the Elbasy "Aleumettik Qamqorlyq," headed by Deputy Prime Minister Gulshara Abdykalikova, arrived in the Turkestan region April 10, 2019.

At the Palace of Culture of the Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, meetings were held with mothers of many children, low-income families, labor veterans, people with disabilities, education and healthcare workers.

“The main priority of the state policy today is to ensure a decent standard of living for the people. More than 45% of the republican budget’s expenses are spent on social causes. Within the framework of various programs, large-scale social investments are implemented. The main thing is that social policy should be balanced and not provoke social dependency,” said Abdykalikova.

Upon completion of the meeting with the population, Abdykalikova held a personal reception of citizens to explain government measures aimed at providing social support to the poor.

During her stay in the Turkestan region, the deputy prime minister familiarized herself with the progress of the research and restoration work at the Kultobe site, and held a meeting with representatives of government agencies, subordinate institutions and international experts of UNESCO. During the meeting, issues of preservation of the pearls of the historical heritage of Kazakhstan – the mausoleum of Khodja Ahmed Yassawi – were discussed. Following the meeting, specific instructions were given.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Berdibek Saparbayev inspected the work of the Employment Center and got acquainted with the process of assigning targeted social assistance in a new format. Today in the region the number of the assistance recipients has grown from 207 thousand to 283 thousand people, the financial need for these purposes has grown from 14 billion to 45 billion tenge.

The working group held a meeting with akims of districts, cities, heads of industrial enterprises, business structures, trade unions at the Kentau Transformer Plant JSC. Abdykalikova called on the heads of industrial enterprises, business structures to support their low-income workers, to help them acquire housing, to allocate funds for their repairs, to make initial contributions on housing loans.

Today, entrepreneurs in the region provided housing to 11 large families. A businessman from the Kazygurt district, S. Yertaev, bought a house for the Erzhanovs' large family and allocated 4 million tenge for the operation in Turkey to the family of a sick child.

The members of the working group held a number of meetings with health workers, education, citizens' receptions and visited social facilities and construction sites. Minister of Education and Science Kulyash Shamshidinova visited Kentau, Vice Minister of Healthcare Lyazat Aktayeva and Chair of the Committee for Construction, Housing and Utilities Markhabat Zhayymbetov went to Turkestan.

The working group includes Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Berdibek Saparbayev, Minister of Education and Science Kulyash Shamshidinova, Vice Minister of Healthcare Lyazat Aktayeva, Chair of the Committee for Construction, Housing and Utility Services Markhabat Zhayymbetov.
