Kazakhstan established the Ministry for Religious and Civil Society Affairs

The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a decree on establishment of the Ministry for Religious and Civil Society Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the transfer of its functions and powers,Akorda reports.

"In accordance with paragraph 3) of Article 44 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan to modernize and improve the efficiency of public administration I hereby decree:

1. To establish the Ministry for Religious and Civil Society Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the transfer of its functions and powers:

in the areas of interaction with religious associations, ensuring the rights of citizens to freedom of religion, as well as the interaction between the state and civil society - from the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

in the sphere of youth policy – from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

2. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to provide:

1) in coordination with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan reallocation of staffing levels of reorganized and organized government bodies;

2) acceptance of other measures following from the present Decree.

3. To write to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 22, 1999 No 6 "On the structure of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan" the following additions:

in paragraph 1:

after the line "The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan," add the following line:

"The Ministry for Religious and Civil Society Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;".

4. To assign to Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan to monitor the execution of this Decree.

5. This Decree comes into force from the date of signing," said in the text of the Decree.
