Of the total sown area of 1.6 million hectares of cereals and legumes sown on 928.5 thousand hectares, oilseeds - 374.3 thousand hectares, fodder - 281.2 thousand hectares, the rest - vegetables. As of today, the region has already fully harvested potatoes, 99 per cent of cereals and vegetables, oilseeds harvesting has started.

As part of his working trip to Pavlodar region, Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin visited a dairy farm for 1200 heads and a vegetable storage facility with a capacity of 10 thousand tonnes of ‘Agro - Trade PV’ LLP. The dairy farm, built in 2022 with the support of Agro-Credit Corporation, produces 4 million litres of milk per year. The raw milk is subsequently processed at a local milk processing plant.

The enterprise grows fodder and potatoes. On the basis of the vegetable storehouse Deputy Prime Minister met with large farmers of the region. Agrarians were interested in the price of forward purchase of grain of 4-5 classes.

"We grow wheat. This year most of the harvest is of 4-5 classes. Prodkorporatsiya has already announced the price for class 3. Now for 4-5 classes the price is chaotic, they offer 30-40 thousand tenge per tonne. I would like to know the price of Prodkorporatsiya," the director of KH “BiK” asked.

Serik Zhumangarin in a conversation with the farmers said that the prices have already been determined. Prodkorporatsiya should announce them in the coming days. In particular, for the 4th class with gluten 21-22% it is formed at the level of 75 thousand tenge per tonne.

Also at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister informed farmers about the great potential of grain exports to China, where this year it is planned to send about 3 million tonnes. In addition, he spoke about the future state programme to support the development of livestock breeding, suggesting that farmers pay attention to business development in this direction.

"Next year we plan to launch a large programme of state support for livestock breeding. First of all, the projects implemented according to the Australian method. In parallel, we support the development of irrigated farming. The potential of the Irtysh River and Satpayev Canal allow us to implement irrigation projects in Pavlodar region on the area of about 200 thousand hectares. Given the availability of domestic production of sprinkling machines and future projects for the development of livestock, we proposed the region to develop a programme for the development of irrigation in the region, which the state will support with soft loans," Serik Zhumangarin said.

The Deputy Prime Minister also visited the milk processing plant of JSC ‘Cүt’, which is part of the group of companies Lactalis Kazakhstan (FoodMaster). The plant provides jobs for 220 people. The enterprise takes 200 tonnes of milk for processing per day. Milk, kefir, butter and other products are produced here. Raw material comes both from its own dairy farm of ‘Kirov’ LLP and from other large dairy farms of the region.

Svetlana Taran, the chairman of the board of Cүt JSC, said that earlier the enterprise purchased about 70 per cent of raw materials from local producers. The rest was purchased in other regions of Kazakhstan. Now, with the commissioning of new MTFs, the company is 96% self-sufficient in milk from local large farms. In addition, the plant gradually began to expand production capacity. In the third quarter of this year, an additional line for production of ultra-pasteurised milk was launched.
