Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on the development of light industry as part of the Head of State’s instructions on economic diversification and the promotion of domestic production.

The second meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Indonesia took place in Astana after a 13-year break. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with heads of leading foreign companies in the agricultural machinery sector from Europe, Canada, and the USA. The meeting, held in line with the Head of State’s instructions on the development of mechanical engineering and import substitution, focused on deepening industrial cooperation, localizing production, and introducing modern agricultural technologies at domestic enterprises.
Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin visited Aktobe Region during a working trip, where he held a meeting with local agricultural producers.
At the Government session, Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov reported on preparations for the spring fieldwork campaign and presented the projected structure of sown areas for 2026.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, progress in preparations for the spring fieldwork campaign was reviewed in light of the tasks set by the Head of State. Reports were delivered by Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, as well as heads of key grain-producing regions.

At the expanded meeting of the Government chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov noted that within the framework of developing the agro-industrial sector, a priority area is increasing capacity for deep processing of agricultural products.
Kazakhstan is entering a new stage in the development of its agro-industrial complex. In accordance with the instruction of the Head of State, voiced in the Address of 8 September 2025, the Government, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, is introducing a model of a progressive agroeconomy. The main emphases are digitalization, artificial intelligence, and deep processing of products.
In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and within the framework of the Government’s systematic work, the development of Almaty Region in 2025 was focused on improving public welfare and strengthening the region’s economic potential. A key emphasis was placed on job creation and comprehensive infrastructure modernization, primarily in rural areas, where more than 80% of the region’s population resides.
A meeting on preparations for the upcoming spring fieldwork season was held at the Government, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.
A meeting on preparations for the 2026 vegetation period was held at the akimat of Zhambyl Region under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, representatives of water management organizations, local executive and law enforcement bodies, as well as farming enterprises of the region.
