At the Government session, Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov reported on preparations for the spring fieldwork campaign and presented the projected structure of sown areas for 2026.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, progress in preparations for the spring fieldwork campaign was reviewed in light of the tasks set by the Head of State. Reports were delivered by Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, as well as heads of key grain-producing regions.
Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov reported at the Government session on measures being taken to expand and deepen the processing of agricultural products.
At the expanded meeting of the Government chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov noted that within the framework of developing the agro-industrial sector, a priority area is increasing capacity for deep processing of agricultural products.
Kazakhstan is entering a new stage in the development of its agro-industrial complex. In accordance with the instruction of the Head of State, voiced in the Address of 8 September 2025, the Government, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, is introducing a model of a progressive agroeconomy. The main emphases are digitalization, artificial intelligence, and deep processing of products.
In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and within the framework of the Government’s systematic work, the development of Almaty Region in 2025 was focused on improving public welfare and strengthening the region’s economic potential. A key emphasis was placed on job creation and comprehensive infrastructure modernization, primarily in rural areas, where more than 80% of the region’s population resides.
A meeting on preparations for the upcoming spring fieldwork season was held at the Government, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.
A meeting on preparations for the 2026 vegetation period was held at the akimat of Zhambyl Region under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, representatives of water management organizations, local executive and law enforcement bodies, as well as farming enterprises of the region.

At the Government session, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov reported on the main indicators of the sector’s development for the first nine months of the current year.
Kazakhstan proposed increasing exports of high-quality agricultural products to Serbia at the 4th meeting of the Kazakhstan–Serbia Intergovernmental Commission (IGC), held in Almaty on August 8. The IGC was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin and Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić.
As part of a joint working trip to the Turkistan and Kyzylorda regions with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev conducted inspections of water management facilities and held a series of meetings with local farmers.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on the progress of the irrigation season and the supply of irrigation water to the southern regions of the country as part of the President’s tasks on sustainable agricultural development. Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov presented a report on the situation in the regions, and the akims of Turkistan and Kyzylorda regions also delivered reports.
At a Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the digitalization of the livestock and veterinary sectors was discussed. Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiev delivered the main report.
In accordance with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to double the gross agricultural output, the Ministry is taking systemic measures to develop the sector.
At a Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, veterinary control measures in the livestock sector and the digitalization of the industry were discussed.
