A Kazakh delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev presented the investment potential of Alatau City in Shenzhen (PRC).
The event was attended by representatives of state bodies, investment funds, financial institutions, development and technology companies from Kazakhstan and China.
Participants were presented with the key directions for the development of Alatau City, including preferential conditions for investors, investment project support on the “one-stop-shop” principle, and other opportunities of the special legal regime. Special attention was paid to studying the experience of Shenzhen — one of the world leaders in innovation, digital governance, and investment attraction. The best practices of the Chinese megacity are planned to be used in the development of Alatau City.
As part of the roadshow, a series of bilateral meetings were held with the management of leading Chinese corporations and investment groups, including China Resources, Ping An Group, China State Construction Engineering Corporation International (CSCEC International), Funde-Gemdale Group, China International Marine Containers Group (CIMC), Sunwah Group, SINOMACH Hainan Development, and others.
During the negotiations, issues of Chinese companies’ participation in the implementation of Alatau City projects, production localization, technology transfer, and exchange of best practices in urban development were discussed. In particular, agreements were signed on the creation of next-generation battery production, energy storage systems, modern agricultural machinery, development of electric transport and charging infrastructure, construction of industrial enterprises, energy facilities, engineering, transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as the introduction of Smart City technologies.
Following the event, 24 cooperation agreements were signed, and arrangements were reached on the implementation of projects in the fields of industry, energy, logistics, high technologies, urban infrastructure, and the digital economy with a total investment potential of up to $6 billion.
The roadshow in Shenzhen became an important stage in promoting the investment opportunities of Alatau City in the international market and confirmed the high interest of businesses in participating in the development of Alatau City. Work on attracting investors will continue as part of subsequent events with the participation of leading investment funds, financial organizations, banks, insurance companies, and technology corporations in Hong Kong.
