Bakytzhan Sagintayev holds a meeting with Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Saidikram Niyazhodzhayev

Today in Ukimet Uyi the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saidikram Niyazhodzhayev.

During the meeting, issues of strengthening and developing a wide range of Kazakh-Uzbek relations, expanding trade and economic, regional and cross-border cooperation, implementing mutually beneficial projects in the field of transport, enhancing cooperation in science, education, culture, art, tourism and sport were discussed. The issues on organization and holding of events within the framework of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan and the first Forum of Interregional Cooperation between our countries were also considered.

Bakytzhan Sagintayev congratulated Saidikram Niyazhodzhayev on assuming the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that his experience, knowledge and professionalism will serve to the further strengthening of relations between our countries.


For reference: Commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in January-March 2018 amounted to $543.1 million, which is 46.1% higher than for the same period last year ($371.8 million). Exports from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in January-March increased by 55.1% and amounted to $399.9 million. Imports to Kazakhstan from Uzbekistan for the period increased by 25.6% and amounted to $143.2 million.

Trade houses in the field of petrochemistry and supply of food products have been established and are successfully functioning. On the territory of Kazakhstan there are 1180 joint Kazakh-Uzbek enterprises.
