New points of economic growth: Olzhas Bektenov inspects work on construction of transport and logistics complex in Korday

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov visited Zhambyl region on a working trip, where he familiarised himself with the socio-economic development of the region on the example of implementation of a number of major projects with multiplier effect. 

Akim of Zhambyl region Yerbol Karashukeyev reported on the main economic indicators. Gross regional product totalled 2.2 trillion tenge at the end of last year. The volume of industrial production reached 188 billion tenge, including 122.5 billion tenge in the manufacturing sector. 

On the example of industrial trade and logistics complex Alatau Prime Minister checked the work carried out in the region on the formation of new points of economic growth. 

In Korday district the territory of industrial trade and logistics complex (ITLC) adjacent to the Karasu checkpoints from the side of Kazakhstan and Ak-Tilek from the side of Kyrgyzstan was visited. The project is being implemented within the framework of the objectives set by the heads of the two states Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Sadyr Zhaparov to increase mutual trade turnover to $3 billion. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic Rapil Zhoshybaev and Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Sydykov spoke about the joint work being carried out. 
Today, infrastructure is being created for co-operation projects in the production of dairy, meat, berry and vegetable, textile, pharmaceutical products and others. The main goal is the production of new goods and their further realisation with effective integration into international commodity distribution systems. 

Director of the managing company of the industrial complex Romsey Holdings KZ LLP Abzal Mynbayev reported on the ongoing work to attract investment in the territory of ITLC and plans to open in Kazakhstan production facilities for processing agricultural products, food plastic, cable products and porcelain ware. The total amount of investment in these projects is about 40 billion tenge. In addition, work is underway to reorganise ITLC into a subzone of the JIBEK JOLY special economic zone, which will increase investment attractiveness.

"The Head of State at a recent meeting set a task not to reduce the rate of economic growth of the country and the volume of attracted investments. Creation of a large-scale industrial trade and logistics complex will allow us to develop both industrial production and build an effective system of sales of finished products, as well as create new jobs. In this area, it is important to proactively work out the entire chain from investment to supply. In order to facilitate the project, it is necessary to solve the issues of engineering infrastructure as soon as possible," Olzhas Bektenov emphasised.


Also on the example of cement plant KORCEM LLP the Prime Minister familiarised himself with the development of construction industry of the region. The production capacity of the enterprise launched last year is 1.3 million tonnes of cement per year. The products are sold in the domestic market, as well as exported to Uzbekistan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Stanislav Scherbakov, Deputy General Director of KORCEM LLP, informed about the application of advanced technologies at the plant, which include systems of increased filtration of emissions and dust collection devices. An intelligent DCS system has been implemented at the plant in accordance with international standards. The entire technological cycle is monitored from a central control panel, which allows controlling the mechanical processes.

Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Industry and Construction to assist the plant in saturating the Kazakh market with domestic cement and expanding export markets.
