Olzhas Bektenov: The Large-Scale Construction Program Initiated by the President Will Give a Major Impetus to the Development of Industrial Cooperation

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov took part in the "INNOPROM. Belarus" international industrial exhibition in Minsk. The Head of Government toured the exhibition exposition, reviewed the presented industrial and technological solutions, and delivered a speech at the plenary session.

In his speech, Olzhas Bektenov noted that amid a profound transformation of the global economy and the restructuring of global production chains, the ability of countries to combine competencies, investments, and technologies becomes of paramount importance.

It was noted that within the course set by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev toward building a Strong and Progressive Kazakhstan, the country's economy is systematically shifting from a resource-based model to the development of high value-added manufacturing. Its share in the country's industry has already reached 46.7%.

Special emphasis in the speech was placed on the implementation of a large-scale construction program launched on the initiative of the Head of State aimed at upgrading infrastructure. The Prime Minister highlighted that Kazakhstan is interested in establishing joint ventures and localizing equipment manufacturing.

"On the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan, our country is implementing a program for large-scale infrastructure modernization. The Government has been tasked with ensuring the accelerated development of infrastructure necessary for sustainable economic growth and improving the quality of life of our citizens. Under the National Infrastructure Plan through 2029, the implementation of projects worth over $90 billion is envisioned. In fact, we are talking about a major construction program covering energy, transport, housing and utility services, and social facilities. This will give a serious boost to the development of industrial cooperation, the creation of new enterprises, and the establishment of sustainable production chains," Olzhas Bektenov noted.

In the context of digitalization, it was stressed that today Kazakhstan is developing technological infrastructure and building a full-fledged ecosystem for industrial transformation. The export volume of IT services has already exceeded $1.1 billion. The presence of supercomputer clusters Alem.Cloud and AL Farabium, the International AI Center Alem.ai, as well as the active phase of construction of the "Data Center Valley" create a robust foundation for implementing industrial AI, digital twins of enterprises, and robotics. Furthermore, Kazakhstan is consistently developing its transport and logistics potential and modernizing key transit corridors, which reduces delivery times and increases the economic efficiency of shipments for industrial enterprises across Eurasia.

The plenary session was attended by Prime Ministers—Heads of Government of Belarus (Aleksandr Turchin), Russia (Mikhail Mishustin), Uzbekistan (Abdulla Aripov), Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan (Adylbek Kasymaliev), as well as a representative of Nicaragua.
