Olzhas Bektenov and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev Discussed Trade and Economic Cooperation

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, who arrived in the country on his first official visit, discussed the implementation of agreements reached during the negotiations between the heads of the two states.

Olzhas Bektenov emphasized that the Government of Kazakhstan is committed to the full implementation of the agreements achieved at the high level.

Attention was given to cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, investment, and transport and logistics. In particular, opportunities for expanding mutual trade in Kazakhstani organic agricultural products and for creating joint ventures for their processing and export, as well as cooperation in chemicals and high value-added goods, were reviewed. The development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route — the "Middle Corridor" — was highlighted as one of the key platforms for further deepening cooperation.

Additionally, the two sides discussed prospects for investment interaction between the business communities of the two countries in areas such as information technology, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and broader exchange of experience.

Bulgaria is among the top 15 largest trading partners of Kazakhstan within the European Union. In 2024, bilateral trade increased to $375 million. Currently, joint projects worth over $117 million are under consideration, with the creation of new jobs.
