Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan agree to implement investment projects and trade contracts worth $7 bln

At a bilateral meeting held on the margins of the business forum "Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan", Deputy Prime Ministers of the two countries Serik Zhumangarin and Jamshid Khodjaev agreed on the joint implementation of 34 investment projects worth $4.4 billion and 7 trade contracts worth $2.6 billion. The agreements are enshrined in a list of relevant documents.

2.8 million hectares treated against locusts

Protective measures on land treatment against locusts on the area of 2.8 million hectares, which is 110% of the forecasted volume, have been completed in Kazakhstan.

More than 400 agricultural cooperatives established under "Auyl Amanaty" programme

The implementation of the programme "Auyl Amanaty" was considered at a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin. More than 400 agricultural cooperatives have been established under the programme. 319 received funding for 6.7 billion tenge. 

Genetic centre for livestock and crop production to be created in Kazakhstan

The state and business will join efforts to breed highly valuable pedigree livestock and fodder crops in Kazakhstan. Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin listened to the proposals of Zhersu Corporation on the development of livestock breeding with scientific support of the Kazakh Research Institute of Livestock and Fodder Production at a meeting in the Government.

Deflation on food products recorded in Kazakhstan for first time in 4 years

In May 2024, the prices of food products, which include 19 types of social foodstuffs, decreased by 0.2%. In general, deflation on food products is observed for the first time in the last 4 years.
