Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on reforming the system of state financing for private educational and medical organizations as part of the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State given in the programmatic interview “Kazakhstan Has Entered a New Stage of Modernization.”
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the issue of developing digitalization and artificial intelligence was considered. Reports on the work being carried out were delivered by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, Chairman of the Management Board of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund Nurlan Zhakupov, and Akim of Akmola Region Marat Akhmetzhanov.
During the Government session, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov issued a number of instructions following the programmatic interview of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev entitled “Kazakhstan Has Entered a New Stage of Modernization” published in the Turkistan newspaper.
At the Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the progress of preparations of the country’s national teams for the 25th Winter Olympic Games in 2026 was reviewed. A report on the work being carried out was delivered by Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov. Presentations were also made by Secretary General of the Union of Biathletes of Kazakhstan Manas Usenov and Vice President of the Kazakhstan Figure Skating Union Murakerim Burkhan.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the implementation of the Government’s Legislative Work Plan was reviewed. A report was delivered by Minister of Justice Yerlan Sarsembayev.
The Head of State was informed about the progress in implementing instructions on economic reforms and further improving citizens’ well-being, the Akorda press service reported.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov chaired a meeting of the Economic Policy Council. The meeting reviewed ongoing efforts to ensure economic growth and improve public welfare in line with the instructions of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on the development of infrastructure in special economic and industrial zones, in line with the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev aimed at increasing the country’s industrial potential. The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Finance, Industry and Construction, as well as the management of the Baiterek Holding and the Industrial Development Fund.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov chaired a meeting of the Interagency Commission on Crime Prevention. The agenda covered safety measures during the holiday period, implementation of the provisions of updated sectoral legislation, as well as the results achieved under the President’s “Law and Order” concept and the action plan for 2026.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a series of meetings on the development of investment cooperation within the framework of the tasks set by the Head of State. In particular, meetings were held with Chairman of the Board of the Association “Kazakhstan Foreign Investors’ Council” (KFIC) Erlan Dosymbekov, Managing Director of Alstom Kazakhstan Jérôme Boyer, and Chief Executive Officer of Polpharma Santo (JSC “Khimpharm”) Adam Aleksiejuk.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the unified small business support program “Isker aimaq” was reviewed and approved. Reports were delivered by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin, Minister of Finance Madi Takiyev, as well as representatives of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and the Union of Accountants.
On the instruction of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov presented state awards to Kazakhstani athletes who took part in the XXV Summer Deaflympic Games held in Tokyo (Japan).
A meeting of the Council on the Transition to a Green Economy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. Participants included the leadership of the ministries of ecology and natural resources and energy, the akims of Pavlodar Region and the city of Almaty, heads of major energy companies, and representatives of the expert community.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on issues of digitalization of the healthcare sector within the framework of the tasks set by the Head of State to improve the quality of medical services.
On the eve of Power Engineer’s Day, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan, congratulated employees and veterans of the sector on their professional holiday and presented state awards.
