Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC "National Managing Holding Baiterek" on matters related to the further transformation of the Holding as part of the instructions of the Head of State to strengthen support for the real sector of the economy and attract investments.
At the session of the Government chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the draft Concept for Managing All Types of Waste for 2026–2030 was approved. The document was developed as part of the instructions of the Head of State to improve the environmental situation in the country. Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Zhomart Aliev presented the key approaches. Reports from regional akims and a representative of the sectoral organization Ecojer were also heard.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the issue of developing cross-border hubs was considered. Reports were delivered by Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliev, Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev, Vice Minister of Industry Iran Sharkhan, as well as heads of several regions.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on the development of aviation hubs and the automobile road sector within the framework of the instructions of the Head of State. The meeting was attended by the heads of the ministries of transport, finance, energy, industry and construction, as well as the akims of the cities of Astana and Almaty.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting of the Council for the Development of the City of Alatau with the participation of the leadership of government bodies, experts, and urbanists. Attention was given to the implementation of the tasks set by the Head of State on creating an international center for business activity, innovation, and technology.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, during a meeting of the Senate, commented on a question from Deputy Sultanbek Makezhanov regarding the optimization of budget expenditures.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, in response to questions from a Senate deputy, emphasized that borrowings should be attracted mainly for commercially attractive and cost-effective projects which, during operation, make it possible to service the debts attracted for construction by generating revenues to the budget.
At a session of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Senate deputy Sultambek Makezhanov asked Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov questions regarding the measures taken by the Government to optimize and prioritize budget expenditures.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the Joint Action Program for Stabilizing and Improving the Well-Being of the Population for 2026–2028 was approved.
At the Government session, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov expressed his deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died as a result of the tragic incident that occurred in the village of Algabas in the Turkestan region.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov took part in the joint meeting of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the heads of delegations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states, as well as in the meetings of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO member states in restricted and expanded formats, held in Moscow (Russian Federation).
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on improving the social support system for the population and the new mechanism for regulating the activities of private schools under the per-capita financing model.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov familiarized himself with the activities of the National Scientific Oncology Center (NSOC) and the Biomedical Research Center of Nazarbayev University. Attention was given to the implementation of the President’s instructions on the application of advanced technologies in medicine and the development of the healthcare system.
