In the first four months of 2026, Kazakhstan’s capital continues to demonstrate dynamic growth in key macroeconomic indicators. Astana confidently maintains leading positions in attracting investment, construction volumes, and the pace of diversification of the manufacturing industry.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov inspected the implementation of the President’s instructions on industrial development, infrastructure strengthening, and deepening processing in the agro-industrial complex during a working trip around Astana. He visited a logistics center, a medical products manufacturing plant, and enterprises producing bakery, dairy, and meat products.

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin held a meeting with Karl Günter Papenburg, Head of the German industrial holding GP Günter Papenburg AG. The parties discussed plans for the development of Kazakhstan’s copper industry and possible areas of cooperation.
First Deputy Minister of National Economy Azamat Amrin reported at a Government meeting on the results of the country’s development for January–March 2026. According to the presented data, real GDP growth stood at 3%.
Seven years of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s presidency have become a period of deep and consistent transformation of Kazakhstan’s socio-economic and political development model. These years coincided with a complex global context — the pandemic, the slowdown of the global economy, inflationary and logistical shocks, geopolitical turbulence, as well as the need to eliminate internal economic and political imbalances formed over previous decades.

In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and within the framework of the Government’s systematic work, the development of Almaty Region in 2025 was focused on improving public welfare and strengthening the region’s economic potential. A key emphasis was placed on job creation and comprehensive infrastructure modernization, primarily in rural areas, where more than 80% of the region’s population resides.
As part of the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of the manufacturing industry, a plant for the production of finished pet food will be built in the Almaty Region. The relevant resolution was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the results of the country’s socio-economic development and the execution of the republican budget for 11 months of the current year were reviewed.
